Teledyne FLIR Field Stories: All-Clear Foundation and Teledyne FLIR Defense Partner Together to Support First Responders

The All-Clear Foundation is dedicated to creating mental health resources and best practices specifically designed for the First Responder community. This summer, Teledyne FLIR Defense officially launched its support partnership with the organization by sponsoring a full-day Train-the-Trainer workshop in Clackamas County, Oregon.

Initially started to break down barriers between emergency response agencies and improve mental healthcare access, ACF developed its ResponderStrong Mental Health Curriculum and began holding training workshops in 2019. Since their launch, ACF has trained more than 1,800 facilitators across the country. Those facilitators, representing police, fire, EMT, front-line healthcare workers, and other emergency response organizations, are then able to re-teach the content within their offices, precincts, and communities.

“What makes our course unique is that it was created for Responders by Responders, and all our Master Trainers have lived experience,” explained Rhonda Kelly, Founder of ACF. “This better enables them to ‘speak the language’ and establish rapport with participants.”

Through the Teledyne FLIR Defense sponsorship, all attendees were able to attend the full-day training at no cost.

The Clackamas County event, held on August 25th and available in-person and remotely, gathered emergency personnel from a multitude of backgrounds including police and sheriff’s offices from Oregon, Washington, California, and Massachusetts. Emergency dispatch, fire and rescue personnel, and National Guard representatives were also in attendance.

Conversation was lively during the 8 hours of training, where facilitators were pleased to find a diverse group of engaged participants that joined in-person or via Zoom. In addition to the event sponsorship, the Teledyne FLIR Marketing team was present on-site with snacks and giveaway items during the break sessions.

Feedback from the 33 attendees reflected the effectiveness of the training, with 85% of attendees reporting that they planned to present the content within their agency or community. A stunning 100% said that they would recommend a future class to other Emergency Responders, a statistic that speaks volumes to the importance of this opportunity to our hard-working, invaluable emergency personnel.
