How do I forward the optical signal from my FLIR A310ex to an Ethernet network (RJ45)?
The FLIR A310ex camera outputs its data via an optical cable. It is commonplace to transform this signal to an "ordinary" Ethernet signal so that the camera can be connected to a wider Ethernet network.
To do this, a Fast Ethernet Media Converter is needed. This converter will convert the 100Base-FX signal to a 100Base-TX signal.
The optical signal is multi-mode, and an example of a converter that can be used is the Allied Telesis AT-MC101XL: https://www.alliedtelesis.com/products/mc101xl.
